Growing up in Kenya, I learned that stories are rarely rushed and never casual. They are shared through conversation, silence, humour, and careful listening. I saw how a story changes when it is truly heard, and how being heard can shift relationships, decisions, and power. That early understanding of storytelling as a collective and cultural act shapes my work today as a communications and outreach professional. I focus on translating lived experience into narratives that build trust, move people to action, and ensure voices that are often overlooked are taken seriously.
For more than ten years, I have worked across international, humanitarian, and development sectors, using strategic communication to amplify voices, strengthen advocacy, and support organisations committed to social impact. My experience spans strategic communications, media relations, fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and digital content development. I design and deliver communication strategies that build visibility, protect reputation, and translate complex issues into clear, compelling narratives.
I enjoy managing multifaceted projects, collaborating with diverse teams, and creating data-informed content that resonates across platforms and audiences. I work comfortably in cross-cultural, in-person, remote, and fast-moving environments.
I have worked with organisations including Nation Media Group, Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH), The Transparency and Accountability Initiative (T/AI), and International Council of Voluntary Agencies.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new places, caring for my cats, discovering thoughtful storytelling in books and film, and spending time in nature.
